Alternative Ways to Help a Headache.

The Symptom of a Headache can either be a pain in the head sometimes with referred pain to the neck.

It can be located in the back of the head (the occipital), the front of the head or forehead (frontal), on the top of the head (vertex), on the sides of the head (temporal) or wrapping around the head (headband).

Many things cause headaches – some of which are stress, tiredness, guilt, fear, anger, depression, your back being out of alignment and also Dehydration! However, most headaches result from tension, which produces pain in the neck and shoulders resulting in constricted blood vessels and blood circulation which in turn cause a headache.

There are various NATURAL ways you can help relieve the symptoms of a headache and I will cover a couple of the simple ones.

First thing before doing anything else. Drink a LARGE glass of water! Make sure the water is room temperature. A glass of very cold water can aggravate your headache. Sit down with your eyes closed and take a few long, slow deep breaths. Wait 5 Minutes and then drink one more LARGE glass of water (You may add a squeeze of fresh lemon, orange or lime juice). Sit down for another 5 minutes and just relax. If your headache is caused through dehydration you will now feel it starting to disappear. Dehydration is a fairly common cause of headaches.

Lavender Essential Oil: Always carry on your person a small bottle of 1st Distillation 100% Lavender Essential Oil. For a Tension Headache gently massage 1 drop into each temple and 2-3 drops along your occipital ridge (back of head where it joins your neck). If Possible Close your eyes and sit quietly for 3-5 minutes.

If you are at home and have more time you can use a fabulous method to work on your whole body, not just your headache! How?

By using The Self-Massage Crystal Therapy Technique.

This is so good - it not only treats those parts of you which are problematical at that time, but also the whole of your body by normalizing your circulatory, muscular and nervous systems.

The following easy steps will produce great results –

Self-massage techniques for headaches: With a Crystal Sphere about the size of tennis ball or smaller, lay on the floor and place the ball under you in the points between and under the shoulder blades. Massage the area by gently rocking over the ball.

Massage the Trapezius muscles at the base of the neck, at the base of the skull, and even in the dimples of the buttock by moving the crystal ball around to the different trigger points. It is fairly important to Massage the Dimples of the buttocks because this is where we hold a lot of tension that makes it way up the spine to the behind the shoulder blades. This then becomes inflamed and moves up to the base of the skull.

It is important to let your body relax over the ball until the tension dissolves.

Massage these spots with your crystal ball with as much pressure as is comfortable for 10 seconds, let off for 10 seconds, massage for another 10 seconds, let off for 10 seconds, and massage one more time for 10 seconds.

Remember to breath slowly and evenly as you massage yourself. You will probably notice by the time you are done massaging yourself the headache will start to reduce, and within two or three minutes the headache will disappear completely and your body will feel fabulous.

That is all I have for you today on Alternative Ways to Help a Headache.
